Hume Multiversity Tertiary Scholarship Program

The Hume Multiversity Tertiary Scholarship Program was established as a part of Council’s COVID-19 recovery package in response to the impacts that COVID-19 has had on employment. The scholarship program aims to reduce barriers for Hume residents to undertake study in industries which have high prospects for future employment.

This program will provide one-year scholarships to Hume residents to commence a new a tertiary qualification (Certificate III and above) with one of our participating Multiversity partners.

Who can apply?

Criteria for eligibility* includes:

  • Current Hume resident.
  • Newly commencing student at a participating Hume Multiversity partner institution.
  • Have been accepted into a course in a study area with high prospects of future employment.

How much are the scholarships and for how long?

The Hume Scholarships are for a maximum of one year.

The maximum scholarship amount varies depending on the partner you are applying with.

  • Kangan Institute up to $2500
  • Deakin University up to $5000
  • Victoria University/VU Polytechnic up to $2500
  • La Trobe University up to $5000

What courses are eligible?

The courses that are eligible for a scholarship are in industries that have high prospects for future employment.

These industries Include:

  • Transport and Logistics
  • Health and Community Care
  • Education
  • Construction
  • Advanced Manufacturing
  • Food and Fibre
  • Visitor Economy
