Detailed Design Submissions

Step 1.Get your supporting documents ready

Before submitting your civil detailed design form to Council, you will need to have all required documents ready to be uploaded. This includes your design drawings, landscape plans, traffic assessment report and many other important documents.

Step 2.Submit your submission

Once you have the required documents ready, you are ready to submit your design submission to Council. This can be done online or by using our printable form. Applicants must use either of these forms when submitting their design to Council.

Step 3.Our Process

Approval of Detailed Design Plans can take 30 working days from submission to finalise. This timeline allows for 8 days administration time. If Council requires further information from you when making a decision, the statutory clock will stop.  Please note the stop and start of the clock will be communicated to the applicant. Step 4.Submission outcome

Once your submission has been fully assessed by an officer, you will be advised of an application outcome. Approval of Detailed Design Plans can take 30  days to finalise excluding additional administration process times. 

If your submission is approved, approved plans will be forwarded to your nominated email address.

Complete your civil or landscape detailed design form via openforms and submit it for review

Step 2.Initial Review

Your submission will be entered into our tracking software and assigned to an engineer. The engineer assigned to your submission will check it for completeness and inform you if any required documents are missing.

Step 3.Invoice

Once all required information is confirmed as having been received, an invoice will be raised and sent to you via email.

Step 4.Detailed Design Review Begins

Once your invoice has been confirmed as paid, a statutory clock will begin, and the detailed review of your submission will commence. 

Step 5.Request for Further Information 

In assessing your submission, our engineer will compile a request for further information. This will generally take 10 to 15 working days from the date your invoice was paid. Your RFI will clearly set out the information required from you and the process for submitting it. Once your RFI has been issued to you, the statutory time clock will be paused while Council awaits your response.

If your response to the request for further information is incomplete, Council will notify you of the items required before the submission can be accepted. 

Step 6.Plan Approval

Once you have addressed all outstanding requirements in the request for further information, Council will complete your review and provide you with an approval letter and stamped plans. This process can take an additional three working days following the review of your submission being completed by our engineer.
