Join local gardener Anthony West for a fun, hands-on workshop where you’ll learn how to collect, store, and use seeds from your own garden - or your neighbours! You’ll also discover other easy ways to grow plants, like using potato pieces or herb cuttings.
Why Seed Saving Matters
Seeds are tiny but powerful – they help plants grow and keep our food system going. However, big farms and companies have made it harder for plants to reproduce naturally. Many food plants can’t easily adapt to new weather conditions anymore, and some are altered to rely on chemicals to grow. This can harm our health and the environment.
Why You Should Save Seeds
By saving and reusing seeds from your own garden, you can:
- Grow different types of fruits and vegetables
- Use fewer chemicals and reduce pollution
- Help plants adapt to your local soil and weather
- Get free food, herbs, and flowers every year
- Be less affected by food shortages or transport issues
Saving seeds is an easy way to grow healthy, organic food and make sure your garden thrives for years to come!
This will be an outdoor workshop.
