Learn how to effectively control and manage rabbit populations on your property at our hands-on workshop

Rabbits were introduced to Australia in 1859. Their high reproduction rates (each rabbit can give birth to over 50 young per year) and an absence of natural predators has allowed them to become the fastest colonising mammal anywhere in the world.

Throughout Australia, rabbits are extremely destructive as they overgraze vegetation, contribute to the spread of diseases and pest plant species, and cause large scale soil degradation and infrastructure damage.

This workshop will look at how you can galvanise your property to control rabbit numbers and reduce their impacts. Expert mentors from the Victorian Rabbit Action Network Tim Bloomfield and Brad Spears will provide demonstrations of correct rabbit proof fencing, filling and preventing burrows, and provide talks on the best methods of control and management options available to private property owners.
