Let's Grow Hume
Hume City Council’s edible gardening program, Let’s Grow Hume continues in 2025!
Join us for a series of free, face-to-face edible gardening workshops across some of our wonderful community facilities. Come along and learn about edible gardening! Some of the workshops include a cooking demonstration where you will learn how to prepare your home-grown veggies and create a healthy and delicious meal at home. Other workshops you will learn about different food growing topics, including growing food in tiny spaces, showing you don't need a large garden, or even a backyard at all!
By attending any of the workshops you are eligible to register to go in the draw to win a ‘Ready to Grow’ kit with everything you need to continue your edible gardening journey at home. The kits will include:
- Vegepod starter pack (includes raised Vegepod garden bed shown in image below, seeds, and perlite)
- Pack of hand tools
- Potting mix
- Gardening gloves
- 12-month subscription to Grow it Local
- Mini Greenhouse to start your seeds
Please note, there are a limited number of "Ready to Grow" kits. To be in the running to win a kit, you will need to fill out the Expression of Interest form that we will share with you after you have attended one or more of the workshops in the Let's Grow Hume series.
