2023 Community Grants Presentation Evening

The Community Grants program has been running for over twenty years and provides Council with an opportunity to support diverse groups and community members.  

Council has awarded a total of $420,715 to support 138 community groups in 2023. 

The grants will allow recipients to:  

• Support day-to-day operations 

• Run programs and activities that encourage community participation and promote leadership  

• Pilot new services or programs, and  

• Develop projects that address a significant need and embrace the principles of social justice, healthy living, lifelong learning, environmental sustainability, community safety and inclusion. 

The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and Tullamarine Live Steam Society shared stories about how the grants helped their organisations over the past year, followed by musical performance. 

Mayor Cr Joseph Haweil presented awards to the 2023 grant winners of Aitken, Meadow Valley and Jackson Creek wards, while guests enjoyed refreshments and the opportunity to connect with other community members.  

The night was an opportunity for Council to recognise and celebrate our grant recipients and the wider Hume community.
