Summer nights, family fun and movie magic

Hume City Council Summer Sessions returns in January 2020, bringing free outdoor movies and family fun to your local neighbourhood.

The sessions are held at several locations throughout Hume, so you will be sure to find a session close to home. The family fun will begin at 6pm, followed by a movie session at 7pm.

Mayor of Hume City, Councillor Carly Moore encourages families to enjoy the warmer weather, family entertainment and free outdoor movies.

“Each evening is a relaxed, fun outing for people of all ages and a great way to catch up with friends or get to know your neighbours,” Cr Moore said.

“Bring a picnic blanket, chairs and your friends and family to enjoy the great entertainment on offer.”

The Summer Sessions movie screenings will be held on the following dates:

  • Mary Poppins Returns, Friday 10 January 2020, Greenvale Recreation Reserve, Greenvale
  • Toy Story 4, Saturday 18 January 2020, Merrifield Neighbourhood Park, Mickleham
  • Happy Feet, Sunday 26 January 2020, Broadmeadows Town Park, Broadmeadows
  • Aladdin (2019), Saturday 1 February 2020, Newbury Park, Craigieburn
  • Secret Life of Pets 2, Friday 21 February 2020, Leo Dineen Reserve, Tullamarine
  • Finding Nemo, Saturday 28 March 2020, Sunbury Village Green, Sunbury (Please note: For this session only entertainment starts at 5.30pm with the movie commencing at 7.30pm)

“The Summer Sessions are the start of Hume City Council’s calendar of major events for 2020,” Cr Moore said.

“The much-anticipated Craigieburn Festival will take place in March and the Broadmeadows Street Festival will return in April.”
