The Hume Young Leaders Awards have returned for a second big year to recognise just some of our bright young achievers at a special ceremony on Thursday 7 September, 2023.

This year nine of Hume’s outstanding young leaders have been recognised for their important contribution made through being role models for their peers and the community.

Hume City Council received dozens of nominations from proud teachers, coaches, parents and carers, as well as from friends and self-nominations, to ensure those that are helping pave the way for the next generation are given the recognition they deserve.

The Young Leader Awards are just one way Hume City Council supports opportunities for young people to grow and flourish, as outlined in Connect and Thrive: A Plan for Young People in Hume 2022-2026 which outlines councils' key direction for young people and families over the next five years.

The award winners will attend the Hume Young Leaders Workshop on 20 September, an event designed to encourage our young leaders to understand their leadership capabilities and use that to have a positive impact in Hume.
