Welcome to a quick wrap up of key items that were discussed at our Council Meeting on Monday 24 July 2023.

1. Planning Permits Grants   

We will grant a planning permit for the site of 4-6 Trade Park Drive, Tullamarine, allowing for the development of the land for a residential hotel, display of signs, reduction in car parking requirements and alterations to the existing multi-level car park.  

We will also allow a planning permit to proceed for the development of a dwelling to the rear of 11 Ardcloney Drive, Sunbury. 

2. Sports Aid Grant Recipients 

We are keeping sporting dreams alive by awarding $8,400 in grant funding for 17 young Hume City residents. The funds will be used to assist with competition and other event related expenses to encourage high achievements and excellence in our recipients' chosen sports. 

3. Youth Opportunity Scholarship 2023 

We are proud to continue our support of emerging talent across Hume City. Council agreed to award a $1,000 Youth Opportunity Scholarship to each of the 25 Year 10 students who have demonstrated continued effort and progression toward achieving their goals in 2023.   

4. Naming Proposal for Rhyolite Drive Reserve 

Thanks to community feedback, we’ll shortly commence consultation for an alternative name of Rhyolite Drive Reserve for the reserve located at 18 Rhyolite Drive Craigieburn.
