Tomorrow marks the start of Seniors Month in Hume City, featuring a diverse array of activities for our senior community as part of the Hume Seniors Festival.

Throughout October, seniors in Hume are invited to explore an exciting selection of new activities, celebrating the festival's 42nd year. This statewide initiative offers free or low-cost events specifically designed for older community members. Residents can also pick up a copy of the festival guide today, available in print at our centers or online

In line with this year’s theme, “Explore. Engage. Evolve,” the month’s activities aim to support our seniors in embracing curiosity, forging new connections, and redefining the concept of aging.

Residents can participate in a wide range of activities across Hume, whether they want to get active, socialize, learn something new, or enjoy music and entertainment. Here’s a glimpse of what’s on offer:

  • Chair Yoga – Various dates and locations

  • Hume Men’s Shed Open Day – Various dates and locations

  • Music and Movement – Lynda Blundell Seniors Centre, 7 October

  • Monica Dullard Comedy Grill – Sunbury Library, 9 October

Hosting the Seniors Festival in Hume allows us to provide diverse opportunities across various locations, ensuring that everyone feels empowered to participate.
