Sunbury commuters and visitors can now enjoy improved access and convenience with the opening of the new multi-deck car park at Sunbury station.

The new facility offers 300 additional spaces across four levels, bringing the total number of commuter parking spaces in the Sunbury station precinct to 428, freeing up local streets and making it easier for commuters to catch the train.

The new facility was completed ahead of schedule as a result of service-related construction risks being mitigated earlier than expected, fast tracking the delivery of this important project.

Funding for the project was made possible through the Victorian Government’s Car Parks for Commuters Program, as well as contributions from the Victorian Growth Areas Infrastructure Contribution and the Australian Government. The initiative forms part of a broader effort to enhance commuter facilities across Victoria, with the Australian Government committing $70 million to similar projects statewide.

Designed to alleviate parking congestion in the area, the multi-deck car park is equipped with accessible parking spaces, lifts, improvements for cyclists and pedestrians and features eight charging bays for electric vehicles. Its central location in Sunbury aims to reduce reliance on nearby residential streets previously used for overflow parking.

The opening of the Sunbury Station multi-deck car park marks a significant milestone in improving local transport infrastructure.

Commuters and visitors alike are encouraged to take advantage of the new facility, which promises increased accessibility, safety, and convenience.
