The Hume Gender Equity in Sport Network (HGESN) is a partnership project of Hume City Council, Women’s Health In the North, DPV Health and Sunbury and Cobaw Community Health, proudly funded by the VicHealth Local Government Partnership.
The HGESN brings together members of the local sport groups, organisations and individuals to be key drivers of gender equity in sport and physical participation in Hume.

Joining the HGESN will help increase your knowledge and skills around gender equity in sport. It will help you share these learnings with your community, and advocate for change.
The Network will run between March and October 2025 and will include four sessions that run for 60 minutes. These network and professional development sessions all relate to gender equity in sport and will align to the Fair Access Policy.

The Hume Gender Equity in Sport Network represents a significant step towards addressing the existing disparities and barriers that hinder female and gender diverse participation in sports and active recreation activities.
By providing a dedicated platform for collaboration, knowledge-sharing, professional development and advocacy, this network will provide a powerful and supportive community to promote gender equality in sport. The network also supports the delivery of the Fair Access Roadmap across the municipality.

It is expected that applicants commit to the network for 4 sessions over a 12-month period and be an active member of the network.
The network program is free but limited to 35 participants. All participants are required to submit an application. Selection will be based on a number of factors including diverse representation of sporting or activity codes and diverse representation of different population groups in our community.
