The ABC and VicHealth have announced 29 winners of the 2021 Takeover Melbourne young storytelling competition. The Takeover Melbourne initiative is run by the ABC with major partner VicHealth and support from the City of Melbourne and the Centre for Multicultural Youth. This initiative is also supported by the 32 local councils of Greater Melbourne. The Takeover Melbourne program amplifies the voice of young Melburnians, develops the storytelling skills, and builds relationships between young people, the ABC, and their local community.
Hume City Council is proud to announce Bill from Craigieburn as one of this year’s ABC Takeover Melbourne winners. Bill shares their story about being diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) at six years old. Bill wants to share their story to others and demonstrate how you can achieve whatever you dream of, “I developed a new perspective on myself and started looking at my disorder as a good thing. Today I'm doing all the things I never dreamed were possible.” View Bill’s full story.
Takeover Melbourne winners and their stories are being showcased on ABC Radio Melbourne and on the News stream via the ABC Listen app throughout November and December. View the full list of Takeover Melbourne winners and listen their powerful stories.
