The Youth Innovation Committee is a group of young people aged 16-24 who provide advice and ideas for innovative pathway programs, activities and spaces for young people in Hume.

We are seeking new members for the 2025 Youth Innovation Committee. If you are interested joining the committee, please complete the Expression of Interest Form:

Youth Innovation Committee:

This program will support young people to:

  • Learn new skills
  • Develop programs, activities, workshops
  • Participate in group planning
  • Co-design new pathway programs
  • Have your ideas and voice heard
  • Create a sense of belonging, confidence and a place to connect
  • Engage with other young people
Committee Guidelines:

The aim of this group is to work collaboratively to plan and deliver programs to the Hume community. If you wish to participate in this program, you should understand what is expected of you and be willing to meet these expectations before you apply:

  • Attend fortnightly meetings held on Wednesdays 4-6pm (starting in February) at Craigieburn Youth Centre.
  • Attend training sessions, programs and events which YIC have planned. 
  • Participate in the planning and delivery of programs/events.
  • Communicate with staff if there are any issues or you cannot attend meetings.
  • Respect the diversity and the opinions of other young people on the program and understand that YIC is a place for sharing ideas and learning new skills.

The Youth Innovation Committee is funded through the Engage! Grant Program by the Victorian State Government.
