Vineyard in Sunbury

Just beyond Melbourne Airport are the closest vineyards to Melbourne. The region has been producing wines since the 1860's. Its cool, dry climate combined with diverse soil types produce elegant wines. The historic local wineries make the perfect location for tasting the area's celebrated shiraz.  

Marnong Estate

Marnong Estate is a new established vineyard, situated only 15 minutes from Melbourne Airport and 35 minutes from Melbourne CBD. There is something for everyone to help celebrate those special occasions including boutique accommodation in the restored Historic Homestead, private dining at the Bankvale Run restaurant and catering for weddings and conferences at the event venues.

Arundel Farm Estate

Arundel Farm Estate is a boutique winery located within the Sunbury Wine Region just 16 kilometers from the City of Melbourne. The vineyard was originally planted to two acres of Shiraz and Cabernet in mid 1980. Rick Kinzbrunner of Giaconda Wines made the first vintages in 1988, 1989 and 1990. Rick Kinzbrunner continued as the winemaker until the mid 90’s.  The vineyard has been expanded to 20 acres and consists of 40 year old vines along with the newer plantings in 1996 and 2000. Today, the vineyards are planted solely to Shiraz, 16 acres and Viognier, four acres – the varieties best suited to the Sunbury Wine Region.
