We are delighted to announce the 2024 Carols will be hosted by Gorgi Coghlan, an accomplished performer and presenter known for her engaging persona and powerful vocals! As our event MC and performer, Gorgi will host an evening of Christmas themed music and performance featuring local and loved performers and musicians, school choirs and dance groups.
Background
Gorgi has a diverse range of experience covering media, news, current affairs, journalism, science, education, as well as her credentials in musical theatre as a professional singer have made her one of the most well-rounded television personalities in the industry with the most infectious laugh in showbiz!
Gorgi is a classically trained and accomplished singer and stage performer, making it to the grand final of the hit show ‘The Masked Singer’ as well as performing at the prestigious Carols by Candlelight at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in 2021. She also debuted her one woman show ‘The Motherload’ in 2023 in Melbourne, using her powerful voice and clever storytelling to take the audience on a journey through the joy, pain, load and laughter of motherhood.
Gorgi has performed at many prestigious events including Channel 9’s Carols by Candlelight on four occasions, Network Ten’s 2020 New Year’s Eve Concert at Hamer Hall, hosted and performs at The Arts Centre’s 2022 Christmas Melodies series as well as much anticipated singing performances on The Project’s Christmas Eve shows. She was also hand-picked by Queen band members Brian May and Roger Taylor for the smash hit musical ‘We Will Rock You’.
You may also know her from her time as a regular co-host on Network Ten’s ‘The Project’, co-host of the Logi Award winning morning show ‘The Circle’. Gorgi previously was the Melbourne reporter and travel presenter on ‘The Today Show’ and ‘Early Edition News’ both on the Nine Network.
Gorgi enjoys time spent on her farm with her family whilst enjoying her various media roles.
