Visit our resource recovery centres

Hume City Council manages two Resource Recovery Centres located in Sunbury and Campbellfield.

Before you visit

Step 1.Check our opening hours

Our Resource Recovery Centres in Campbellfield and Sunbury are open 8am until 4pm, Monday to Sunday. Open hours are subject to change without notice on windy days. We're closed on ANZAC Day, Good Friday, Christmas Day, New Year's Day and Total Fire Ban Days.

Step 2.Grab your licence or other proof of address

To use your waste vouchers or access residential pricing, you must show proof of your Hume address such as a driver's licence or utility bill. Residential ratepayers living outside of Hume must also show their rates notice.

Step 3.Leave your cash at home

Payment is by EFTPOS only. We are not currently accepting any cash transactions.

Step 4.Load your vehicle

Check the list of items we accept for free and keep them separate from other waste to make sure you are not charged for their disposal. Before you leave home, make sure your load is covered and safely secured. No tipping trailers are permitted.

Step 5.Use your waste vouchers

Let us know at the gatehouse if you want to use your waste vouchers to drop off waste for free. We'll check your address and keep a record of how many you've used.

Step 6.Follow on-site instructions and unload safely

Once you arrive, follow all directions and signage from on-site staff. You must stay in your vehicle unless unloading. All vehicles must be unloaded by hand.
