We have redeveloped the athletics track at Eric Boardman Memorial Reserve in partnership with the Victorian Government.

What have we done?

We have completed works on a new synthetic athletics track and supporting infrastructure. The project work involved:

  • converting the existing grass track to a new 400m long synthetic track
  • improving lighting within the area
  • building new shelters for athletes and spectator’s
  • installing new chainmesh fencing, including pedestrian gate access
  • building new club and user group storage equipment sheds
  • connecting pathways to transition throughout the entire sporting precinct
  • installing new sub-surface drainage and irrigation systems for the new turf.

Why did we do it?

Sunbury is home to many established and emerging athletes, so we worked to provide a facility that will help our community to train, develop, connect and thrive.

When was it completed?

Construction was completed in mid 2024 and was officially opened at a ceremony on Saturday 1 June 2024.

Partnerships
