We are proud to support Neighbour Day on Sunday 30 March 2025, a Relationships Australia initiative, which encourages people to get to know their neighbours. We want to support social connections to create a safer community for all of Hume.
Neighbour Day Competition
To celebrate Neighbour Day this year, we are running a competition to show your community spirit and connections with your neighbours. This competition will support practicing empathy, embracing diversity, and fostering inclusive spaces, so we can build lasting, respectful relationships that enrich all our lives.

To be eligible, you must:
- take a photo showing your community spirit
- upload your photo through the link below
- complete the form and tell us in 25 words or less how you have connected with your neighbour
- there are 20 x $100 gift vouchers to win!

Sunbury Neighbour Day
Sunbury Neighbour Day is just around the corner, and it's the perfect time to connect with the awesome people who live in our community!
Events on the day include:
- meet you Rainbow Neighbour
- Men's Shed Open Day & Sausage Sizzle
- sausage sizzle & kids fun
- morning tea at Kimberly, Paw Patrol, bagels & coffee
- lunch BBQ at Redstone – sausage sizzle, petting zoo & amusement ride

How can you run your own event?
There are many ways you can do this:
- invite a neighbour for a cup of tea
- host a BBQ
- have a picnic with your neighbour in your front yard
- join one of the events taking place across Hume
